Day 71 -8/9
Harpster, ID to New Meadows, ID
96 (4160)

I was happy to get an early start for what was bound to be a hot day. I had a 2000 foot climb to start off the first 20 miles, but I was held up with a flat tire just 2 miles in.

It proved to be another beautiful ride through Idaho, touring through high desert hills, along the Salmon River, and through deep pine forests. Again, there was plenty of free fruit along the way.

The toughest part of the day was the heat. At one point my cyclometer said that it was 120 degrees-not accurate, but it was hot.

Tonight I'm staying at the city park, in bad need of a shower. I washed my hair in the sink, doing my best to stay clean.
