Day 17 - 6/16
Radford, VA to Wytheville, VA
Not an eventful day. I tried to milk sleeping in a real bed as long as I could. Got up, ate a lot of cereal, then hit the road. And I rode. Most of today's route followed parallel to the interstate, so it was neither pretty nor quiet. I had been hoping to make a big 76-mile day today, but I can't do it. I'm looking forward to taking a break day on Friday in Damascus, the 'Friendliest Town on the Appalachian Trail.' It should be fun to hang out with the hikers-it's the only place where the bicyclists' and the hikers' paths actually intersect. Tonight I'm staying in the town park again. It's so nice to have a free, safe place to campout.
